Brian M. Moore

Certified Family Law Specialist

Biography

Brian Moore is a certified Family Law Specialist through the Board of Legal Specialization of the State Bar of California. He is a member of the Association of Certified Family Law Specialists and a partner in the law firm of Feinberg & Waller. Mr. Moore is admitted to practice before all the courts in the State of California. He previously represented family law clients under the law office of Brian M. Moore, prior to becoming a partner in the law firm of Feinberg & Waller. Mr. Moore is a skilled, respected courtroom advocate and is highly regarded in the family law community.

Mr. Moore has extensive legal experience including hundreds of settlements of various family law issues, including those involving custody, child support, spousal support, separate property disputes, and community property disputes. He has drafted numerous varieties of agreements, such as marital settlement agreements, custody agreements, support agreements, prenuptial agreements, and cohabitation agreements. Mr. Moore’s attention to detail, well composed advice, and ability to effectively explain all options is appreciated by his clients. Mr. Moore’s extensive experience in family law litigation has allowed him to give clients first-hand knowledge about the costs, benefits, and detriments of litigation, as well as the benefits of settlement.

Mr. Moore also offers unbundled legal services. Although “unbundled legal services” is a relatively new concept in the public perception, Mr. Moore has pioneered this approach by offering it in appropriate cases for years. In an “unbundling” arrangement, the attorney is assigned specific tasks. The client remains in charge of selecting the task the attorney is to provide, and otherwise handles other matters himself or herself, apart from the tasks the attorney is conducting. This service allows for a less expensive approach when compared to the traditional, comprehensive retainer approach.

Mr. Moore strives for resolution of issues by settlement. He believes negotiations with opposing counsel are facilitated by cooperation with civil and open communications. Mr. Moore’s approach to a matter is to assist the parties in formulating a fair settlement. The key is commitment to resolution by settlement, coupled with reasonableness and a willingness to compromise on both sides.

Mr. Moore brings his personal life experience and passions to his law practice. He draws discipline both from surfing and as a competitor in American Quarter Horse technical trail shows. He has awareness and appreciation for the natural world as he challenges the powers of oceans and trails. He has learned to achieve grace and versatility; distractions fall away as he becomes absorbed in the moment. He has learned to negotiate obstacles through these sports by using available directional energy and the flow of things, he uses this concept to help clients negotiate through life experiences, including divorce. He brings acquired qualities of maneuverability and contemplative solitude to his law practice.

Mr. Moore received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from California State University, Northridge and earned his law degree from Loyola Law School. At the start of his career, Mr. Moore had experience with criminal and civil lawsuit work on which he still draws today as an added value to his matrimonial specialty. Foundational work in his career were experiences working as a volunteer Judge Pro Tem on numerous matters such as family law restraining orders and small claims appeals. His qualifications include completion of a 40-hour mediation training program and volunteer work through the Voluntary Attorney Settlement Team program that involved mediation and alleviating court congestion.

Mr. Moore strives to have written words communicate clear, persuasive, and accurate representation of his clients’ intentions and positions, whether preparing agreements reached in mediation, or in the course of litigation, constructing appellate briefs, or drafting other documents. He seeks to facilitate effective communication between all parties in a comfortable and private environment. Mr. Moore wants you to feel that you have selected a superior legal service, where you receive guidance and personal attention to your concerns and ultimate goals.
